This Friday released Rajkumar Hirani’s directorial Sanju has passed the opening weekend on a solid note and now on weekdays as well, it is showing strong performance at the box office. Due to positive word of mouth, the film has gained a good hold over the audience and heading with better pace than Salman Khan’s Race 3.
Presented by Fox Star Studios’ has received mostly positive reviews from the critics, due to its impressive story-line and impactful performances by all the actors, especially Ranbir Kapoor and Paresh Rawal. The audience also liked it and showed big thumbs up.
After a solid opening, this biographical drama picked up very well over the weekend and did the business of total 120.06 crores, that included 34.75 crores of Friday, 38.60 crores of Saturday and 46.71 crores of Sunday. With this, it has registered the second best opening weekend of the year after Baahubali 2 Hindi (128 cr).
Now Sanju is running on weekdays and despite normal working days, it is heading strongly. On Monday, the film faced a drop of approx. 27.05% than Friday and minted the amount of 25.35 crores. Then on Tuesday, it remained almost steady and raked the business of 22.10 crores.
After 5 days of release, the total collection of Ranbir starrer has become 167.51 crores at the domestic box office. As per current trend, it is positively expected to collect around 200 crores by the end of this week.
Sanju has also left behind the lifetime collections of several biggies of 2018 which includes Parmanu, Veere Di Wedding, Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety, Raid, Hichki and October to name a few. It will soon cross the lifetime collections of Race 3 and Baaghi 2.
