Despite several fresh releases, James Erskine’s directorial Sachin A Billion Dreams has remained good in its second weekend and registered excellent business. Being the docu-drama of India’s most favorite cricket team skipper, the movie has been released with enormous hype and as expected witnessed overwhelmed response across the country.
In the opening week, Sachin A Billion Dreams reported excellent response and did the phenomenal business of 41.20 crores including 28.05 crores of weekend and 13.15 crores of weekdays. Now the movie is running in its second week and still has complete hold over audience despite new Hindi movies. After 10 days, total collection of Sachin Tendulkar starrer was recorded as 46.91 crores on domestic box office, which made it the Eighth highest grossing movie of the year so far. Once again, it is weekdays and asusual getting lesser occupancy than before. With this, 11 days total collection of the movie has become 48.14 crores from Indian screens. It is positively expected to rake near about 51 crores by this week. Among as many as the six releases this week, the film has maintained itself pretty well. It was quite obvious that the new releases are going to fall flat considering the volume.
Also, despite facing competition from films like Hindi Medium, Half Girlfriend and Baahubali 2, the film stood strong and that is commendable. The film is now enjoying tax-free status in Delhi, Maharashtra, Kerala, Chhattisgarh and Odisha. Sachin: A Billion Dreams has released all over India and abroad in over 2800 screens.
