Rustom 25th Day Collection: 4th Monday Performance on Indian Screens

‘Rustom’ still away from Rowdy Rathore

Superstar Akshay Kumar’s one of the most appreciated movies ‘Rustom’ is still there at box office as a winner on top. The last month released this true story based crime thriller has showed phenomenal performance in its early weeks and even till now it is increasing its total. Rustom has given a best start to the new year and registered many new record to the name of Akshay. It has received super positive reviews from critics as well as b-town celebs, which created strong word of mouth about it across the country and overseas as well.

Through out its journey so far, Tinu Suresh Desai’s directorial Rustom successfully dominated the adjacent release Mohenjo Daro and all the new releases. Within first 2 weeks, it became the third highest grossing movie of the year by surpassing the lifetime total of Housefull 3 (109.14 crores). Also it has emerged as the fastest and the second movie of superstar Akshay Kumar to enter in 200 crores club worldwide. In its opening week, Rustom witnessed excellent occupancy across the country and reported the business of 90.90 crores, including 50.42 crores of weekend and 40.48 crores of weekdays. In the second week, it recorded usual drop but remained strong and did the business of 26.11 crores including 17.12 crores of weekend and 8.99 crores of weekdays.

In the third week, Rustom faced more drop and raked the decent amount of 7.71 crores including 5.27 crores of weekend and 2.44 crores of weekdays. Now it is running in the fourth week and has Sonakshi Sinha starrer female-centric movie Akira in opposite. Despite this, the Akshay starrer reported decent business in the weekend. On the 4th Friday, Rustom recorded almost 50% of drop than previous day and minted 0.41 crore. On the next day, being Saturday it showed little rise and raked 0.47 crore.

On the last day of weekend i.e. Sunday, it added the amount of 0.59 crore to its account. With this, 24 days total collection of the movie has become 126.38 crores net on domestic box office. On Monday, Rustom witnessed very less response and collected the amount of only 0.29 crore as its 25th day collection. The figure is low but appreciable that it is still getting something considerable on box office, despite of new release like Akira. Rustom is now heading very slowly and still away from Akshay’s top grosser Rowdy Rathore.
