Rustom 24th Day Collection, Crosses 126 Cr till 4th Weekend in India


Akshay receives huge appreciation for ‘Rustom’

Tinu Suresh Desai’s directorial movie Rustom that was released last month, has completed its 24 days journey at box office with huge appreciation and craze of audience. This crime thriller features superstar Akshay Kumar and Ileana D’Cruz in lead roles. Both the actors have justified their characters brilliantly and being praised by everyone for that. Thriller-drama Rustom enjoyed excellent run on box office in its early weeks across India. Not only in the country, infact it reported impressive performance from overseas too.


With strong word of mouth it successfully dominated the adjacent one, Hrithik Roshan’s much anticipated Mohenjo Daro and all other new releases. Rustom has showed tremendous performance till yet with super positive reviews from critics as well as b-town celebs. Within 2 weeks, it became the third highest grossing movie of the year so far by surpassing the lifetime total of Housefull 3 (109.14 crores). Also it has emerged as the fastest and the second movie of superstar Akshay Kumar to enter in 200 crores club worldwide.

Rustom did the total business of 124.72 crores in its first three weeks on Indian screens, that includes 90.90 crores of first week, 26.11 crores of second week and 7.71 crores of third week. As per report, the film has grossed around 70 crores from overseas market and over 211 crores worldwide including distribution shares. It has registered many records to Akshay’s career so far and still heading to set new height for him.

The movie is now running in its fourth week and grossing low at box office due to new releases. On  Friday, it had faced drop in its business graph and raked the amount of 0.31 crore. On Saturday being weekend, Rustom witnessed little up and added 0.47 crore to its account. On Sunday being holiday, it has done the business of 0.59 crore as its 24th day collection. Till the end of the day, total collection of Rustom is recorded as 126.38 crores on domestic box office.
