‘Rustom’ 4th Saturday Business Report
Superstar Akshay Kumar has received huge appreciation for his latest ‘Rustom’. The film has been released last month near Independence Day with great excitement of fans and audience. As expected it has received terrific response at box office and super positive reviews from critics because of its strong content. The actor has given brilliant performance in the film and is being praised by everyone for this. In its journey till yet, Rustom has registered number of records for Akshay.
In its first week, Rustom registered the second highest opening week collection of the year so far after Salman Khan’s Sultan. It did the business of 90.90 crores with amazing occupancy through out across the country. Which included 50.42 crores of weekend and 40.48 crores of weekdays. In the second week despite well performing Happy Bhag Jayegi, Tinu Suresh Desai’s directorial raked the business of 26.11 crores with 17.12 crores of weekend and 8.99 crores of weekdays. In the third week, Tiger Shroff’s A Flying Jatt was in opposite to it but Rustom remained unaffected and collected 7.71 crores including 4.46 crores of weekend and 2.44 crores of weekdays.
After 3 weeks, total collection of the movie was recorded as 124.72 crores on domestic box office. Now it is running in the fourth week and has Sonakshi Sinha’s Akira in opposite. On its 4th Friday due to fresh releases and Bharat Bandh, Rustom witnessed almost 50% of drop than Thursday and added the amount of 0.40 crore* to its account. With this total 22 days collection of Akshay Kumar starrer has become 125.12 crores* from Indian screens.
Tinu Suresh Desai’s crime-thriller Rustom has managed remain steady on its 4th Saturday (23rd day) at the box office. Despite the release of Akira, the film managed to collect 31 lacs today. Rustom now stands with the total collection 125.43 crores. The film is currently the 3rd highest grosser of 2016 after Sultan and Airlift. Rustom is expected to rake near about 126.50 crores by this week. But still the lifetime total of Airlift (128.10 crores) is away from its hold.
