Rustom 21 Days Box Office Collection
Akshay Kumar starrer “Rustom” continues to make a mark at the box office with its collection going steady, both in domestic as well as overseas market. The film is inching close to Rs. 207 crore in the worldwide market. After earning Rs. 122 crore until its third weekend, early estimates suggest that “Rustom” has collected Rs. 122 crore nett (approx) at domestic box office by the end of day 19. Meanwhile, the crime-thriller has been performing well overseas as well. “Rustom” has earned Rs 20 crore (approx) at international markets over its third weekend. Having released on Aug.12, both “Rustom” and “Mohenjo Daro” had enjoyed an extended opening weekend. While the Tinu Suresh Desai directorial has been keeping its momentum up at the box office, Ashutosh Gowariker’s period drama has turned out to be a flop.
In the opening week, Rustom recorded excellent occupancy and registered the business of total 90.90 crores including 50.42 crores of weekend and 40.48 crores of weekdays. Despite new releases, it remained strong in its second week and did the business of 26.11 crores with 17.12 crores of weekend and 8.99 crores of weekdays. Now the movie is running in the third week and has Tiger Shroff’s A Flying Jatt in opposite. Despite this, Akshay starrer reported decent performance in the weekend and minted 5.27 crores including 1.29 crore of Friday, 1.89 crore of Saturday and 2.09 crores of Sunday.
Once again Rustom is in weekdays and asusual getting lesser occupancy in theaters. On Monday it faced almost 50% of drop than last Friday and collected 0.67 crore. On Tuesday with slight more drop, it raked the amount of 0.61 crore. Then on Wednesday, it recorded almost similar and added the amount of 0.58 crore 0.56 crore of Thursday to its account. Till the end of its 21st day, total 3 weeks collection of Rustom is recorded as 124.72 crores at domestic box office.
Including its overseas gross collection, the movie has already crossed the mark of 200 crores worldwide and emerged as the fastest plus second movie of Akshay’s career to enter in this club. Even the release of “A Flying Jatt” and “Happy Bhag Jayegi” could not affect the box office run of “Rustom” much. The film has already become Akshay’s third highest grossing movie ever and is likely to surpass the lifetime collection of his second biggest hit “Airlift.” However, Sonakshi Sinha’s “Akira” is slated for release on Sept. 2 that might affect the earnings of Akshay’s film.
