Rustom 16th Day Collection: 3rd Saturday Performance on Indian Screens

Rustom 16 Days Box Office Collection

Akshay Kumar’s “Rustom” has been making huge money at the domestic as well as the international market. After a successful run in the first week, the film witnessed a drop at the box office in week two, but still managed to collect an impressive figure. The film is now expected to surpass the domestic box office collection record of “Airlift.” “Rustom” has collected Rs.117 crore net at the domestic box office after 14 days of its release.

With such impressive numbers, the film is expected to run in theatres for the next two weeks at least, and surpass the lifetime domestic box office collection record of Akshay’s “Airlift,” which raked in Rs.128.10 crore net in nine weeks. The Tinu Suresh Desai-directed movie has already broken several box office records, including the lifetime box office collection of Akshay’s “Housefull 2” and “Housefull 3,” which made Rs.106 crore and Rs.109.14 crore, respectively, at the Indian box office. The world wide box office collection record of “Rustom” (Rs. 182 crore gross) has also shattered the lifetime record of Akshay’s “Holiday,” which minted Rs.129.06 crore at the worldwide box office.

In the opening week, Rustom recorded superb occupancy and did the business of 90.90 crores on domestic box office, including 50.42 crores of weekend and 40.48 crores of weekdays. Despite a strong competition because of Hrithik Roshan’s Mohenjo Daro, Akshay starrer enjoyed terrific response in the first week and successfully dominated the opposite one with good difference. Then in the second week, it had new release Happy Bhag Jayegi which undoubtedly performed well on box office but didn’t hamper the run of Rustom. The movie remained strong and collected the amount of 26.11 crores including 17.12 crores of weekend and 8.99 crores of weekdays.

After two weeks, total collection of Tinu Suresh Desai’s directorial thriller drama was recorded as 117.01 crores on domestic box office and around 36 crores from overseas market. Now it is running in the third weekend and recorded usual drop in its occupancy due to the fresh Hindi release A Flying Jatt but still stands almost steady as its shows have increased in the third week.

On its third Friday, it faced more than 40% of drop as compare to Thursday and added the amount of 1.47 crore* to its account. On the nest day i.e. Saturday being weekend it experienced slight jump and raked 1.80 crores* as its 16th day collection. With this, total 16 days domestic collection of Rustom has become 119.25 crores* across India. It is positively expected to rake around 6 crores in this weekend.
