downloadThe film had fared averagely initially due to Ranbir Kapoor’s presence and earned Rs 10.40 crore and Rs 11.16 crore on Friday and Saturday respectively across India. The India-Pakistan match hampered its collection on Sunday, but Roy still managed to earn Rs 7.12 crore to close the opening weekend at Rs 28.68 crore. As Manoj Desai of G7 Cinemas suggested, “Roy hasn’t fared as we expected it to. It had maximum occupancy on Saturday, owing to Valentine’s Day. It had an occupancy of around 70 per cent till Sunday, which has reduced to 40 per cent on Monday. Though the mood was gloomy, the scenario was different at multiplexes as Gautam Dutta, CEO, PVR Ltd, pointed out, “Roy opened well. The songs and Ranbir Kapoor were Roy’s key attrctions. While Roy witnessed an average occupancy of 55 per cent.” Now, As per the sources, Roy Collected Rs.1 Crore on its 9th day.

Ranbir Kapoor Romantic thriller, “Roy” dipped in its 2nd Week. The movie, on is 2nd Sunday (Day 10) made a business of Rs.50 lakhs (approx) at Box Office Collection, thus taking its 10 days business Rs.43.10 crores. “Roy,” that was made in the moderate budget of Rs.30 crores with additional Rs.10 Crores for P & A, has garnered Rs.43 crores+ at the Domestic Business and already earned Rs.35 crores through music, overseas rights and satellite rights. The movie which was made in a modest budget as already recovered its cost of making. With the film still in cinemas, India box office collection with Home Video, internet and terrestrial rights the film which are yet to monetized will make the film a definite profit for the producers! The movie might end its lifetime business at around Rs.45 crores mark! Had the film carried good positive mouth publicity, it would have made much better business. The superhit music has worked big time in favor of the film. “Roy“, a romantic thriller, marks the debut of Vikramjit Singh as a director. The film features Ranbir Kapoor, Arjun Rampal and Jacqueline Fernandez in the lead roles.
