Roy First (1st) Week Box Office Collection
Romantic thriller, “Roy”, has finished its one week run at the box office on a decent note. “Roy” features Ranbir Kapoor, Arjun Rampal and Jacqueline Fernandez in lead roles. The film was released in 2500 screens in India and had an opening of around Rs.10.4 crore. Looking at the opening, trade analysts expected that the film would do well over the weekend and weekdays. But contrary to expectations, the box office collection declined on Sunday and on Monday too it witnessed a huge fall. However, the weekday figures are in the same range as the film maintained steady pace. The film has now taken its seven days box office collection to Rs.42 crore mark. The film has not only failed to beat Akshay Kumar’s “Baby” first week record, but also failed to cross Rs.50 crore mark in India. Nevertheless, “Roy” that was made in the moderate budget of Rs.30 crores with additional Rs.10 crores for P & A, has recovered its production cost in its first week. The film will now go for to make profit in its second week. But it won’t be easy, as Varun’s much-anticipated film “Badlapur” is set to releases Friday (Today )which will definitely give tough competition to Ranbir starrer at the box office.
