Rocky Handsome 6th Day Collection: 1st Wednesday Performance Report

Rocky Handsome 6 Days Total Collection

John Abraham starrer Rocky Handsome box office collections are not really creating any storms anywhere, but they are certainly climbing slowly and steadily, having reached an overall collection of Rs 33.31 crore by day 5, including foreign take. This is despite the fact that most critics did not have much to say in favour of the film and a lot against it. However, the movie was spared from being panned entirely by reviewers, who preferred to highlight the shallow nature of the content. The film was expected to cater to the action-thriller fans rather than a wider audience. Rocky Handsome showed a drop in its business on Day 6. As per early estimates, the film starring John Abraham managed to rake in approx 1.34 crores on 1st Wednseday.

As far as competition is concerned, John Abraham’s Rocky Handsome is in an unfortunate position of having to compete not just with rival releases in theatres, but also the T20 World Cup, where Team India’s fortunes are on the rise, which is keeping people across the nation glued to the small screen and chary of visiting a theatre. This state of affairs is expected to continue till the last ball is bowled in the cricket world cup. On the other hand, rivalry from other films is restricted to the Alia Bhatt starrer Kapoor & Sons, which is already into the second week of its run.

Still, Kapoor… is hogging much of the collections thereby denying Rocky Handsome of some much-needed viewership. The Rocky Handsome casting does not look to take any attention away from John Abraham by including any other actor of similar standing. John Abraham is seen in film as Kabir Ahlawat aka Rocky Handsome, Shruti Haasan, Nishikant Kamat, Sharad Kelkar, Nathalia Kaur, Baby Diya Chalwad and Shiv Kumar Subramaniam. The stene stealer every time is Baby Diya Chalwad.

Packed with maniac action sequences, Rocky Handsome is a typical dark, moody and coarsely crafted crime drama that is based on the 2010 released Korean film “Man from Nowhere”. The film is John Abraham’s canvas and as the beefed-up Kabir Ahlawat, he shines sporadically. He offers the punches more convincingly than his dialogues. It is the story of a retired special agent Kabir Ahlawat aka Rocky in the sinning state of Goa, where drugs, child trafficking, organ trade and brutal killings are the norm of the day. How he forges an unlikely bond with his neglected young neighbour, Naomi and takes it upon himself to protect the little child from violent criminals who kidnap her, forms the crux of the tale.
