When the news of Shankar’s 2.0 release being postponed broke, most of Rajinikanth fans left disappointed. However, they won’t have too many regrets after watching the making of 2.0 video which was released by director Shankar Shanmugham on Friday evening. Shankar took to Twitter to share this video which was uploaded on YouTube. Going by the video, it looks like the team has put in extra effort to make the movie as grand as it possible.
If the reports are to be believed 2.0 is going to be the most expensive Bollywood film ever going past Baahubali 2. The video shows some candid shots of Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar on the sets of the film. From the making of the video, it’s quite clear that the audiences are in for a big surprise. The film is a sequel of Shankar’s Robot which had Rajinikanth in double roles. 2.0 also stars Amy Jackson in an important role.
According to a report, 100-feet tall balloons with life-sized images of Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar will travel around the world as part of the movie’s promotions. The balloon was clicked at Hollywood signage in Los Angeles. The reported budget of the movie is around Rs 400 crore. Earlier, the 2.0 was scheduled to release on Diwali this year but it was postponed to January 2018.
Currently, the movie is in the post-production stage. Academy Award-winning composer AR Rahman is in charge of the music department. 2.0 will hit the screens on January 25, 2018. Akshay Kumar’s last film Toilet Ek Prem Katha recently hit the screens and has made over Rs 100 crores.
