After completing the opening week on a decent note, last Friday released highly anticipated Hindi movie Raid has now entered in the second week and still holding well at the box office. Despite having the already existing biggie Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety, the newly released Hichki in the opposite.
Starring superstar Ajay Devgn, Ileana D’Cruz and Saurabh Shukla in lead roles, Raid inspired by the real life I-T raids that were conducted by the officers of the Indian Revenue Service in the 1980s. As expected the movie has received huge appreciation from critics as well as audience and gained strong word of mouth globally.
After a strong opening, the film showed fair growth on the next day and registered the business of total 41.01 crores in the opening weekend. That included 10.04 crores of Friday, 13.86 crores of Saturday and 17.11 crores of Sunday from 3400 screens across the country.
Then in weekdays despite getting usual drops in footfalls, Raid remained steady and did the business of 6.26 crores on Monday, 5.76 crores of Tuesday, 5.36 crores on Wednesday and 4.66 crores on Thursday. After a week, total collection of the film was recorded as 63.05 crores.
Now the movie is in the second weekend and passed the 2nd Friday on a decent note by collecting the amount of 3.55 crores. With this, the total collection of Panorama Studios and T-Series’ production after 8 days, has become 66.60 crores at the domestic box office.
Meanwhile, the film is now heading towards the 90 crore mark comfortably though it has to be seen what’s the kind of push it gets over the second weekend to aim for higher milestones. If around 25 crores more come in the second week, Raid could well take a shot at the 100 Crore Club.
