After a strong opening weekend, superstar Ajay Devgn’s recent offering Raid has completed it’s one week journey at box office on a good note. Due to favorable public response, it remained steady throughout the weekdays. This marks the second outing for the duo after last year’s Baadshaho.
With good initial buzz, Raid opened on a strong note and registered the 3rd highest opening of the year so far in Hindi cinema. It did the business of total 41.01 crores in the opening weekend, that included 10.04 crores of Friday, 13.86 crores of Saturday and 17.11 crores of Sunday from approx. 3400 screens nationwide.
Then in the weekdays, this period drama managed to remain steady despite normal working days. On Monday, it faced 40% of drop than Friday and minted the amount of 6.26 crores. With further drops, it raked the business of 5.76 crores on Tuesday and 5.36 crores on Wednesday.
On the next day i.e. Thursday, T-Series Films and Panorama Studios’ production faced more drop and garnered the business of 4.66 crores. With this, total one week collection of Raid has become 63.05 crores at domestic box office. Now in the next week, it will have Hichki, Sajjan Singh Rangroot and Baa Baaa Black Sheep in opposite along with Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety.
Produced by Panorama Studios and T-Series Films, Raid is based on one of the most high-profile income tax raids of the county conducted by Indian Revenue Services in the 1980s. With its impactful story-line and brilliant performances by Ajay Devgn and Saurabh Shukla, the movie has impressed everyone and gained positive word of mouth.
