First Day Collection of ‘Raabta’ across India

This week’s new solo Hindi offering Raabta has been released on around 1820 screens in India and another 330 screens in the overseas market boasts of good visuals, catchy music and a cracking chemistry between the lead pair. Director Dinesh Vijan’s much-awaited Bollywood movie Raabta starring Sushant Singh Rajput, Kriti Sanon and Jim Sarbh has received mixed reviews from the audience, who are impressed with the lead pair’s chemistry.

Raabta is a romantic thriller film written by Siddharth-Garima and produced by Dinesh Vijan, Homi Adajania and Bhushan Kumar under the banner Maddock Films. This love story is set in two periods, which has generated a lot of curiosity about the movie. But Dinesh Vijan’s directorial this romantic thiller has received negative reviews from critics as well as moviegoers.

On its opening day, it opened with only 15% of occupancy across the country and witnessed little growth from evening shows in multiplexes. With overall 20-22% of occupancy on Friday, Raabta minted the collection of 5.61 crores net domestically. The movie is needed to show good growth on Saturday and Sunday.

While Sushant Singh Rajput has four films to his name, with M.S. Dhoni – The Untold Story (which took an opening day of Rs. 21.3 crore, a major share of that also coming due to Brand Dhoni) being his biggest so far. On the other hand Kriti Sanon has done well with Heropanti, though Dilwale (Rs. 21 crore opening day) was primarily riding on the Shah Rukh Khan–Kajol wave.
