4 Days Total Collection of Pulimurugan

October 7 2016 saw a mighty clash between Mollywood superstars Mohanlal and Mammootty after 15 years. Fans were waiting to know, who would emerge a winner at the box office. And now we have the answer. While both movies have received positive reviews, Mohanlal’s Pulimurugan is racing ahead only to leave behind Mammootty’s film. On day 1 itself Mohanlal’s movie beat Mammotty’s film as it went on to collect Rs 4.08 crore, at the Kerala Box office as opposed to Rs 2.03 as per certain reports and 1.65 crore as per other reports. from Thoppil Joppan. What’s more it also beat Mammotty’s Kasaba day 1 collection, Vijay’s Theri day 1 collection.

The movie has been lauded for its direction, visuals, Mohanlal’s performance. Everyone can’t stop gushing about the movie. In respose to the psotive review, Mohanlal expressed his happiness over the movie’s performance – Again you all made my day . Feeling good to get good reviews about #Pulimurugan. My hearty felicitations to the entire crew of Pulimurugan. On day 2 as per reports the film has crossed 7 crore and now reports state, it has crossed the 10 crore mark in 3 days. As for Thoppil Joppan, the movie has collected Rs 4.75 crore. So as of now, Pulimurugan is winning. History repeats itself as even in 2001, it was Mohanlal’s film that had emerged a winner.

On Monday, Pulimurugan faced a drop of more than 60% and collected the amount of 1.63 crore* as its 4th day collection. The best part, while PuliMurugan has just hit screens, it’s also competing with Lal sir’s previous movie Oppam that is still running in theatres. So far the movie has collected Rs 29 crore in 21 days. So it’s like a battle between Pulimrurgan and Oppam now. But at the end of the day, it’s a win win for the Malayalam superstar. Set in the exotic jungles of Vietnam, Pulimururgan is about a lorry driver who ends up becoming a wild hunter to fight down his enemy – the tigers of the jungle.

It’s one of Mohanlala’s most expensive films till date, made on a budget of Rs 18 crore. There is reportedly a 20 minute climax sequence between Mohanlal and a real tiger that has been choreographed by the acclaimed Peter hein. This is Mohanlal’s 4 release. And all have performed well at the box office. He’s reigning over the box office, again!
