Prem Ratan Dhan Payo (PRDP) 17th Day Collection – 3rd Saturday Box Office Business Report

Prem Ratan Dhan Payo 17th Day Box Office Collection

Salman Khan’s “Prem Ratan Dhan Payo” (PRDP) has made a decent collection at the Indian box office in 15 days. The movie has beaten the two-week collection record of Shah Rukh Khan’s “Happy New Year” (HNY). Since there was no big ticket Bollywood release, “Prem Ratan Dhan Payo” was expected to do well in its second week. But when compared to its opening day, the movie witnessed around 80% drop on its second Friday. However, the film had decent growth on Saturday and Sunday. It collected Rs 20.40 crore nett at the Indian box office in its second weekend. On its second Monday, the Salman Khan and Sonam Kapoor starrer once again had a steep decline in its business and the movie maintained rock-steady on the following days.

On weekdays, “Prem Ratan Dhan Payo” has collected Rs 10.31 crore nett at the Indian box office, taking its second week domestic total collection to Rs 30.71 crore nett. “Prem Ratan Dhan Payo” has collected Rs 203.53 crore nett at the Indian box office in two weeks. “Prem Ratan Dhan Payo” has beaten the two-week business record of “Happy New Year”, which has collected Rs 193.44 crore nett at the Indian box office in 14 days. The Sooraj Barjatya-directed family drama has become second highest grosser movie of 2015 in the domestic market after “Bajrangi Bhaijaan”.

“Prem Ratan Dhan Payo” has become the third film of Salman Khan to surpass the mark of Ra 200 crore nett in the domestic market after “Kick” and “Bajrangi Bhaijaan”. “In its third week, “Prem Ratan Dhan Payo” will clash with Ranbir Kapoor’s Tamasha, which is likely to take toll on its business. Its current pace of collection shows that the movie will not be able to beat the record of “Kick”, which is the second highest grosser for Salman Khan with its lifetime collection – Rs 231.85 crore.

Prem Ratan Dhan Payo total box office collection on its 3rd Saturday is not that complementary like the weekend days in previous weeks, however; still the movie has continued to give us an exhilarating and humorous performance and managed to collect around 1.80 Crore*. Though now the third week has started from yesterday and the film is facing bit downfall firstly due to release of new films on the box office and secondly it is the 3rd week now so obviously the occupancy is expected to lower down than the first weeks.
