Prem Ratan Dhan Payo 1st Day Box Office Collection
Salman Khan’s film “Prem Ratan Dhan Payo” (PRDP) has got a bumper opening not only in India but at the overseas box office as well. The film has already started shattering the records at the box office with its morning shows. Early morning figures from Noida circuit reveal that “Prem Ratan Dhan Payo” has pushed past records of “Kick”, “Bajrangi Bhaijaan”, “Happy New Year” and “PK”, according to Box Office India. The occupancy in several theatres is more than 90 percent across the country in the first day morning shows and it is expected to increase by the end of the day. Shah Rukh Khan’s “Happy New Year”, which was released a day after Diwali in 2014, opened with similar occupancy and it went on to collect Rs 44 crore. However, Salman’s “Prem Ratan Dhan Payo” has higher number of screen count compared to “Happy New Year”. “Prem Ratan Dhan Payo” is releasing in over 4,500 screens in India and over 1,100 screens in the international market. But it remains to be seen whether “Prem Ratan Dhan Payo” will emerge as the highest opener.
Prem Ratan Dhan Payo Domestic Collection Report
The film was made on an estimated budget of Rs 80 crore–100 crore and before it was released, it recovered an estimated Rs 57 crore from its satellite and music rights. This isn’t something for Rajshri and Fox to worry though since Prem Ratan Dhan Payo is practically the only Hindi movie being screened across the country, which means a hefty weekend is pretty much on the cards on the sheer basis of current bookings. Meanwhile, the way opening shows have seen such terrific response, Prem Ratan Dhan Payo is now already the best of the year so far, hence surpassing Salman’s own Bajrangi Bhaijaan. Meanwhile, it is also heading for a 40 crore+ Day One for sure. As for the highest Day One record of Happy New Year (44.97 crore – all versions), it is to early to predict as for that a lot would depend on how the late evening and night shows occupancy turn out to be.
