Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol, Shreyas Talpade starrer comedy drama Poster Boys was released this Friday on approx 1000 screens across the country with good buzz among fans as well as audience. But unfortunately it got failed to impress critics and received mixed reviews.
Shreyas Talpade’s this directorial didn’t witnessed much footfalls in the opening weekend and registered the business of 7.25 crores, that included 1.75 crore of Friday, 2.40 crores of Saturday and 3.10 crores of Sunday. Now the movie has entered in weekdays and witnessed abrupt drop in footfalls. On Monday, Poster Boys faced around 61% of fall than Friday and minted the amount of 1.15 crore to make it’s 4 days domestic total 8.40 crores.
As for Daddy, the word of mouth hasn’t even spread actually since the footfalls have been low right through the weekend. There is one thing about audiences watching a film and then spreading good/bad word of mouth, and another thing is about patrons missing it out on the big screen. This is what’s happening with this Ashim Ahluwalia directed film which despite the efforts of Arjun Rampal has somehow not registered with the paying public.
Arjun Rampal starrer Daddy is the story of a gangster-turned-politician Arun Gawli and it also received mixed reviews from critics. But unfortunately the movie got failed to gather enough audience in theaters outside Maharashtra. After a dull opening of only 1.30 crore on Friday, Daddy showed slight growth on Saturday and minted 1.50 crore.
Following the similar trend Ashim Ahluwalia’s directorial collected the amount of 1.80 crore and with this, it’s opening weekend total domestic collection has become 4.60 crores. Now it is in weekdays and collected the amount of 0.75 crore on Monday with heavy drop than Friday. With this, total 4 days collection of Daddy has become 5.35 crores.
The collections have been held back by a very limited single screen release as Baadshaho kept all the good single screens in week two in most parts of the country. A circuit like Delhi / UP has been hit badly due to this.
