Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol, Shreyas Talpade’s Poster Boys and Daddy starring Arjun Rampal released on September 8 to receive a lukewarm response from the audience. While the reaction shifted between Poster Boys being Sunny Deol’s show completely to Daddy being a one-time watch, these two Bollywood films did not manage to impress the masses. It also faced a tough competition from Shubh Mangal Saavdhan and Baadshaho which released last week at the ticket window.
Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol and Shreyas Talpade starrer Poster Boys received mixed reviews from critics, this is why despite good promotions it witnessed low footfalls in theaters throughout the opening weekend. On Friday, it recorded 15-20% of occupancy and did the business of only 1.75 crore.
With limited growth on Saturday, it raked the business of 2.40 crores. On the last day of weekend i.e. Sunday, Shreyas Talpade’s directorial showed little more jump and collected 3.10 crores to make it’s opening weekend total 7.25 crores across the country.
Poster Boys is the official remake of hit Marathi movie Poshter Boyz. It is the story of three common men who accidentally become the face of a vasectomy advertisement.
While on the other hand, Ashim Ahluwalia’s directorial Daddy is story of a gangster turned politician Arun Gawli played by Arjun Rampal. This movie is also getting mixed reviews from critics and struggling to attract audience in theaters as well, except in Maharashtra regions.
On the opening day, it did the business of 1.30 crores with 10-15% of occupancy in India. On Saturday, it showed minimal rise and minted the amount of 1.50 crores. Then on Sunday, Daddy remained almost similar and collected 1.80 crores to make it’s total 4.60 crores.
