Two films that released today included Arjun Rampal’s Daddy and Bobby Deol, Sunny Deol and Shreyas Talpade’s Poster Boys. Both the movies faced a strong competition from last weeks films. Those films are Ajay Devgn and Emraan Hashmi starrer Baadshaho and Ayushmann Khurrana and Bhumi Pednakar starrer Shubh Mangal Saavdhan.
Arjun Rampal and South Indian actress Aishwarya Rajesh starrer political crime drama Daddy generated good buzz among fans as well as audience with it’s promos and songs, but on the opening day it recorded only 8-10% of occupancy. Ashim Ahluwalia’s this directorial is limited to multiplex audience, and recorded slight growth in footfalls from evening shows.
As per reports, the movie has collected the amount of 1.30 crore on Friday. Daddy, which revolves around the story of the Mumbai don, Arun Gawli, did well in multiplexes especially in the Maharashtra region, while Poster Boys fared well in single screens. Although it has received mixed reviews from critics but viewers are giving positive reactions, so there is a little chance for it to register decent weekend.
On the other hand, Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol and Shreyas Talpade starrer comedy drama Poster Boys has recorded 20% of occupancy across India. Shreyas Talpade’s directorial Poster Boys is getting mixed reviews from critics as well as viewers and recorded only 15-20% of occupancy nationwide. On the opening day, it raked the business of 1.75 crores. Still Saturday and Sunday are expected to result in higher business for both the movies.
It is the remake of the 2014 Marathi hit Poshter Boyz which Shreyas had produced and acted in. It is inspired by a real life incident about three porters who found their pictures on a vasectomy poster. While the Baadshaho alone took better start and collected higher amount on it’s 2nd Friday than the combined opening business of these two domestically.
