Pink 2nd Sunday Box Office Collection
It has been Pink all the way at the Box Office as the second Saturday also belonged to the film. Just like last weekend, the film grew well from Friday to Saturday, and in the process brought in Rs. 5.49 crore more. The film has now amassed Rs. 44.55 crore already and is set to hit the half century mark before end of Sunday. This is also the first time ever that a film belonging to this genre has scored so well at the Box Office. The last notable film to do some kind of a business while being set as an investigative/court room drama and a realistic treatment was Talvar and that had fetched Rs. 31 crore in its lifetime run.
In case of Pink, that number was achieved inside of one week itself and the speed at which it is going, the business double to that of Talvar would be accomplished by the end of the second week. In the opening week, Shoojit Sircar’s Pink witnessed overwhelmed response from audience and did the business of 35.91 crores including 21.51 crores of weekend and 14.40 crores of weekdays. In the weekend, the movie witnessed more than 120% of growth from Friday to Sunday and remained strong in weekdays.
Now it is running in the second week and received higher response than all new Hindi releases in its second weekend. On Friday, Pink recorded almost similar response as previous day and did the business of 3.15 crores. Then on Saturday, due to strong word of mouth it showed more than 74% of growth and minted 5.49 crores.
On the last day of weekend i.e. Sunday, it reported more higher occupancy from the morning and estimated to add the amount of 6.57 crores to its account. With this 10 days total collection of Pink is set to become 51.12 crores on domestic box office. The film which was made on a budget of merely 21 crores, has now made a profit of 23 crores, thus taking its profit percentage to 109%. Pink has become 5th most profitable film of the year and has surpassed Baaghi which had made 100% profit at the box office.
