The family entertainer Piku starring Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan and Irrfan Khan witnessed fall in its Box Office collection on Monday that is on its fourth day, for obvious reasons. The movie had a wonderful run at the Box Office over its first weekend and earned more than Rs 25 crores in just three days. Directed by Shoojit Sircar, Piku started on a decent note with a collection of Rs 5.32 crores on its opening day, picked up tremendously on the weekend, but is back on its opening numbers on Monday. After earning a revenue of Rs 8.70 crores and Rs 11.20 crores on Saturday and Sunday respectively, Piku witnessed a sharp fall on its Box Office collection on Monday, but the numbers are still decent. Piku’s fourth day Box Office business is Rs 4.40 crores on Monday at the domestic market, taking its total collection to Rs 29.62 crores. Shoojit Sircar’s Piku received praising reviews and is enjoying strong positive word of mouth which helped the movie pick up so well at the Box Office.

Shoojit Sircar’s directorial film “Piku” has opened to phenomenal response at the overseas box office. The film, which is already doing wonders in India, has recorded the highest opening weekend box office collection at the overseas box office. “Piku” starring Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan and Irrfan Khan in the lead roles has shattered the records of Bollywood film “Baby” and Tamil movie “Uttama Villain” (Uthama Villain). In its opening weekend, Akshay Kumar starrer “Baby” collected approximately Rs 6 crore from the overseas box office, while “Piku” minted more than its double in first three days. Piku 5th day box office collection was Rs 4.10 crores. The film’s main USP has been its content which is winning praises not only from the critics but also the audiences too. It has performed its best in the US, Canada and Middle Eastern regions. The film met with huge responses in Singapore too where the film was running housefull over the weekends. Piku has surpassed the overseas collections of other big films of the year such as Gabbar Is Back, Roy and Baby.
