Piku 19th Day Collection – 3rd Tuesday Box Office Business Report

Piku 19th Day Box Office Collection

The release of “Tanu Weds Manu Returns” has slowly started affecting the collection of Deepika Padukone-Amitabh Bachcchan starrer “Piku”. The film, which has managed to have a good run at the box office till the third weekend, experienced slow dip in its collection on its third Monday. According to trade analyst Taran Adarsh, “Piku” collected Rs 92 lakh, but this is less compared to its second Monday collection of Rs 2.10 crore and third weekend Sunday collection of Rs 2.75 crore. With the release of content-driven films like “Piku”and “Tanu Weds Manu Returns”, Bollywood is buzzing with reports on new box office records and it would be interesting to see how these two films are going to perform in the coming week days. “Piku”, directed by Shoojith Sircar, is reviewed as one of the best comedy drama in Bollywood in the recent times. The film, which dealt with complex relationship between a father-daughter duo, was much appreciated by critics as well as audience.

Piku 3rd Monday Box Office Business

“Piku”, which has continued to keep the bells ringing at ticket counters, has collected Rs 7.42 crore in the four days of its third week. As per its present trends, the movie will earn approximately Rs 2.70 crore in the next three days, taking its third week total to Rs 10 crore. Its domestic total is likely to stand at Rs 75.34 crore by the end of its third week. “Piku” will face tough battle with nine new Bollywood releases including “Welcome 2 Karachi”, “Lateef”, “Ishqedarriyaan” and “Dil Dhadakne Do” in the next three weeks. Trade analysts predict that the movie will struggle to collect remaining Rs 24+ crore to cross the magical mark. Meanwhile, few trade experts feel that “Piku” will not be able to join the elite club of Rs 100 crore at all. The reason is that its business is on falling spree of 50% with each passing week. If the same happens in the coming weeks, the movie needs many weeks to achieve the magical feat and it can not sustain in theatres due to new releases.
