Akshay Kumar, Sonam Kapoor and Radhika Apte‘s PadMan has had a fantastic first week at the domestic box office. However, after Black Panther and Aiyaary released on February 16, the film’s box office run has been affected. Not only have the screen space been reduced, but the footfalls have also decreased considerably.
Starring superstar Akshay Kumar, Sonam Kapoor, and Radhika Apte in lead roles, PadMan addresses the taboo topic very smartly. As expected the movie has received huge appreciation from critics as well as audience and gained strong word of mouth globally.
PadMan started the opening week on a good note but dropped down so early. It received overall good response but lesser than earlier expectations. The movie raked the business of total 62.87 cr on 2750 screens across India, including 40.05 cr of weekend and 22.82 cr of weekdays. Now it is running in the second week and being the only strong option on box office from Bollywood.
On Friday, it witnessed decent response and did the business of 2.10 cr. On the next day, being Saturday it received little jump and added the amount of 3.15 cr to its account. After 9 days, total domestic collection of PadMan is recorded as 68.12 cr. The movie can rake over 70 crores till the end of second weekend, if it takes decent growth on Sunday.
