Akshay Kumar, Radhika Apte and Sonam Kapoor’s PadMan remains steady at the box office. The film is earning good moolah’s everyday despite tough competition from Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmaavat and Neeraj Pandey’s Aiyaary, not only Bollywood films the film is also locking horns with Hollywood bigge Black Panther.
In the opening Twinkle Khanna’s debut production recorded decent occupancy and did the business of 62.87 crores with 40.05 crores of weekend and 22.82 crores of weekdays. Then in the second week too it remained steady and raked the business of 13.78 crores including 9.03 crores of weekend and 4.75 crores of weekdays.
After 2 weeks, the total collection of PadMan was calculated as 76.65 crores on domestic box office. Now it has entered in the third week and has adjacent Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety and Welcome To New York in opposite the opposite along with the existing Padmaavat and Aiyaary.
On the 3rd Friday, it faced some drop in its business than previous day and secured the amount of 0.65 crore. Then on Saturday too, it remained almost similar and added the amount of 0.72 crore to make its 16 days domestic total as 78.02 crores. Sunday is expected to result in decently higher business.
Akshay Kumar’s film has already become the first profitable film of 2018. It is made on a budget of 37 crores. PadMan is based on the real-life incident of Arunachalam Muruganantham,the man whose initiative was to invent low-cost sanitary pad making machines in rural India helped not only his wife but other women in his village to lead a hygienic life.
