Padmaavat (Padmavati) 2nd Day Collection, Takes Impressive Jump on Republic Day

Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s latest offering, one of the most awaited movies of the year ‘Padmaavat’ has been released this Wednesday with enormous hype among his fans and as expected getting overwhelmed response from viewers. Due to massive initial buzz, the movie has taken box office by storm and started its journey with outstanding opening business on domestic box office.

Everyone found Padmaavat as a complete entertainment package and showed big thumbs up to it. From most of the critics also, it has received very positive reviews, due to positive which the movie has gained word of mouth and heading on a strong note now. All the viewers have appreciated the acting of Ranveer & Deepika, who have given brilliant performances as always.

On the opening day, Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s directorial this epic-period drama had recorded excellent occupancy from the morning shows and did the whopping business of 19 crores from around 4000 screens across India. Also the movie has earned 5 crores on the day before its main release. The shows of the movie started from 6 pm on the evening of 24th January.

On the next i.e. Thursday, due to holiday on accounts of India’s Republic Day, the movie reported impressive jump in its occupancy at single as well as multi-screen cinemas and minted the amount of 32 crores domestically, which has made its 2 days domestic net total as 56 crores. Padmaavat is positively expected to touch the mark of 100 crores by this 4-days weekend.

The film starring Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh, and Shahid Kapoor, is based on the poem Padmavat, written by a 16th-century poet, Malik Muhammad Jayasi. It tells the tale of the beautiful Rani Padmini of Chittor, and how she avoided falling into the clutches of Turkish invader, Alauddin Khilji, by committing self-immolation or Jauhar.
