Padmaavat (Padmavati) 14th Day Collection, Remains Strong on 2nd Wednesday

Director Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s recent offering Padmaavat is not showing any sign of slowdown and heading strongly at box office across the country. From the very first of release, it is getting wonderful response and still has good hold over the audience. Padmaavat may have opened to mixed reviews from critics, but the audience verdict is unanimous – the film is a hit.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s period drama has been setting the box office ablaze since its release on January 25. Also, the film has already become the highest-grossing film of Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh, Shahid Kapoor as well as the filmmaker. Surrounded by numerous controversies since it went on floors, the film gained huge hype and as a result, opened to an excellent note.

Padmaavat started it’s journey on an outstanding note and remained strong throughout the opening week. It did the business of total 166.50 crores that included 114 crores of weekend and 52.50 crores of weekdays. In the second weekend as well, this Viacome 18 Motion Pictures’s presentation remained strong and raked the business of 46 crores, with 10 crores of Friday, 16 crores of Saturday and 20 crores of Sunday.

Now once again Padmaavat is running in weekdays and asusual getting lesser footfalls than before. On 2nd Monday, it faced around 30% of drop than Friday and minted 7 crores. With further dip, the movie added 6 crores to it’s account on 2nd Tuesday. On the next day i.e. 2nd Wednesday, Deepika-Shahid-Ranveer starrer reported the business of 5.50 crores and raised it’s 14 days total collection to 231 crores at domestic box office.

The story of the film revolves around Rani Padmavati, the wife of Maharawal Ratan Singh, who is known for her beauty and valour in 13th century India. She captures the fancy of the reigning Sultan of Delhi, the tyrant Alauddin Khilji, who becomes obsessed with her and goes to great lengths to fulfil his greed.
