OK Jaanu 5th Day Collection, Crosses 17 Cr on Indian Box Office

5 Days Collection of OK Jaanu

Aditya Roy Kapur and Shraddha Kapoor failed to recreate the OK Kanmani magic in the Hindi remake OK Jaanu. The film, which hit the screens on January 13, opened to a lukewarm response at the box office. The film, which is the Hindi remake of Mani Ratnam’s 2015 hit Tamil romantic drama OK Kanmani, failed to pull the audience to the theatre. OK Jaanu, which opened to Rs 4.08 crore on Friday, has collected only Rs 15.75 crore within four days of its release.

In fact, the romantic drama has failed to pass the Monday test as it managed to earn on Rs 1.95 crore on January 16. On the next day i.e. Tuesday, it received almost similar response and collected the amount of 1.72 crores*. Till the end of its fifth day, total collection of OK Jaanu is recorded as 17.47 crores* on domestic box office. OK Jaanu has been released this Friday on around 1400 screens across the nation.

Being Aditya Roy Kapur and Shraddha Kapoor, the very much favorite jodi starrer, it had good pre-release buzz among audience. Even though the movie covered its opening weekend on an average note with limited growth.  Aditya and Shraddha, who cast their spell with Aashiqui 2, have failed to recreate their magic in OK Jaanu. Despite high expectations from the romantic drama, OK Jaanu has more or less fizzled out at the ticket windows.

OK Jaanu was pitted against Deepika Padukone’s Hollywood debut xXx Return of Xander Cage and Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s Haraamkhor at the box office. It wasn’t just the box-office clash that worked against the film. The film, which revolves around a couple who are in a live-in relationship, also received a thumbs down from the critics. Director Shaad Ali couldn’t pull off a perfect remake of OK Kanmani. The film, which also stars Naseeruddin Shah, hit the screens on January 13.
