After completing the opening week on a decent note, director Shoojit Sircar’s latest offering October had witnessed abrupt drop in footfalls on it’s 2nd Friday. But to catch the track back, it picked up little well on the next day i.e. 2nd Saturday and now seems to garner almost decent business in this extended weekend.
Starring the young superstar of Bollywood Varun Dhawan and debutante Banita Sandhu, October is an unusual love story based on a thin line subject, which has received positive reviews from the audience and critics as well. But unfortunately it’s business graph is not following the expected pattern.
On the opening day, October started the journey on an average note but picked up impressively well from the next day due to positive word of mouth and did the business of 20.25 crores in the opening weekend, that included 5.04 crores of Friday, 7.47 crores of Saturday and 7.74 crores of Sunday.
Then in weekdays with average but steady note, it minted the amount of 2.70 crores on Monday, 2.61 crores on Tuesday, 2.43 crores on Wednesday and 2.25 crores on Thursday. After the opening week, total collection of the movie was recorded as 30.24 crores from 1683 screens at domestic box office.
Now Varun Dhawan starrer is running in the second weekend and still has enough hold on the multiplex audience. On 2nd Friday, the movie raked the business of 1.89 crore with around 16% of drop than the previous day.
Then on 2nd Saturday, October witnessed decent growth in footfalls and garnered the business of 3.42 crores. With this, total 9 days domestic collection of this family entertainer has become 35.55 crores. It is positively expected to take more growth on Sunday.
