nh10 movieAnushka Sharma’s debut production “NH10” took a very low start at the box office, despite positive reviews. The action thriller deals with the serious issue of honour killing. The morning and afternoon shows opened to around 10 to 20% occupancy, but the film picked up its pace during the evening and night shows. But the poor occupancy in the first half of the day affected the overall opening day box office collection of Anushka starrer. The film earned Rs.3.35 crore on first day from domestic box office. The opening day box office collection of “NH10” is lower than Amitabh Bachchan and Dhanush starrer “Shamitabh”. Nevertheless, the collection is expected to increase over the weekend as the post-release buzz is very strong. Meanwhile, Anushka feels that “NH10” will be a game changer like “Queen” and “Mary Kom”.

The film which hit the theatres on Friday doesn’t boast of A-listers apart from the actress but its trailer and plot has been able to get audience to the theatres. NH10 revolves around a couple who hit the highway for a weekend getaway but how things turn ugly after they enter into a spat with the local goons. Krishika Lulla, who is one of the producers of Anushka Sharma starrer “NH10”, hopes the movie finds a strong audience through a positive word of mouth. Anushka organised a special screening of NH10 for her Bollywood friends and most of them took to Twitter to applaud the actress. In fact, many called her the new angry woman in town. Now, As per early estimates, the film has managed to collect Rs.4.50 crores business on Day 2 i.e. 1st Saturday at the Domestic Box Office. Film fared better in NCR, Rajasthan and Punjab, Delhi. The film will surely show a good jump over the weekend thus giving it a positive hope to survive at box office. An opening weekend number of at least 11 crores is on cards for NH10. Directed by Navdeep Singh, the action thriller features Anushka, Neil Bhoopalam and Darshan Kumaar in lead roles.
