Neerja 8 Days Collection Report
Sonam Kapoor’s “Neerja” had the second best first week box office collection in India after “Airlift” this year. The film made an income of approximately Rs 35.32 crore in its first week box office run. “Neerja,” based on the real-life story of flight attendant Neerja Bhanot, has shattered the first week records of Sunny Deol’s “Ghayal Once Again” in India. “Ghayal Once Again” minted Rs 33.25 crore in its first week, whereas the Sonam-starrer “Neerja” earned Rs 35.32 crore. The first week box office collection of Ram Madhvani’s directorial film “Neerja” is also among the top female centric grossers.
“Neerja” recorded the fourth highest first week income among the female centric films. Priyanka Chopra’s “Mary Kom” has the highest first week income among the female centric films, followed by Deepika Padukone’s “Piku,” and Kareena Kapoor Khan’s “Heroine.” The Sonam-starrer will dominate the box office in its second week, as the film is still running high on positive reviews. Also, the tax-free status in two states will encourage moviegoers to watch the film again.
As per report, the film has crossed the mark of 50 crores at worldwide box office and is expected to complete the target at domestic box office by this week. In the second week, the screen count of Neerja has increased to 900. Due to which, the film is positively expected to show impressive rise in its business on Saturday and Sunday. On Friday, it witnessed almost similar response as Thursday at box office and minted the amount of 3.01 crores* as its 8th day collection. Till the end of the day, total collection of Neerja is recorded as 38.33 crores* on Indian screens.
Now the film has arrived on its ninth day on box office and the good thing is that might enter into third weekend if somehow it manages to pull up its socks in this weekend. Today it was second Saturday for Neerja and the film collected overall 2.50 Crores* by end of the day. There are many expectations from this film for tomorrow as it is a holiday and there are many chances that some audience may go for this instead of other movies.
