This Friday released two new Hindi offerings of distinctive genres- Badhaai Ho and Namaste England. While one is a film that is high on content the other boasts of big names in it’s cast. But which film from the two will take the lead is the question.
Directed by Amit Ravindernath Sharma, Badhaai Ho had created a good pre-release buzz among the audience with its impactful trailer. Post-release, as expected, it received mostly positive reviews from the critics as well as the audience and gained a solid word of mouth.
Starring Ayushmann Khurrana, Sanya Malhotra, Gajraj Rao and Neena Gupta in lead roles, the movie took a good start with 30-35% of occupancy in the morning and managed to collect the amount of 7.29 crores on Friday after a decent growth in footfalls post noon shows in multiplexes.
On the other hand, after a long time filmmaker Amrutlal Shah is back as a director with Namaste England, the second movie of the franchise that was begun in 2007 with Namastey London. Starring Arjun Kapoor & Parineeti Chopra in lead roles & associated with a successful franchise, it has a good pre-release buzz.
On Friday, Pen India Ltd’ presentation took a slow start with around 10-15% of occupancy in the morning. Over the evening & night shows, it witnessed a decent growth in multiplexes and minted the amount of 1.75 crores nett at the domestic box office. Due to favorable feedback from the public, Namaste England is expected to take a good jump over the weekend.
On the whole, Badhaai Ho that has received positive reviews is expected to lead while Namaste England that has received mixed reviews will have to rely on good word of mouth.
