Naam Shabana 9th Day Collection, Taapsee’s film crawling slowly on Box Office

9 Days Collection of Naam Shabana

After a slow start on Friday, March 31, Naam Shabana gradually drew the audience to the theatres, owing to the positive word-of-mouth publicity. Akshay Kumar’s presence also boosted the film’s overall collection. The spy-thriller is expected to enjoy a good run and attain a decent figure at the domestic market in the upcoming weekend since no big ticket films were released in theatres this Friday.

Directed by Shivam Nair, Naam Shabana is the spin-off on Akshay’s Baby, which also starred Taapsee and Anupam Kher. It is said to be the first spin-off in Indian cinema. Manoj Bajpayee, Anupam and South Indian star Prithviraj Sukumaran play key roles, while Akshay has an extended cameo in the film.

Shivam Nair’s directorial Naam Shabana has done an average business of 27.18 crores in first week on Indian screens, that includes 18.76 crores of weekend and 8.42 crores of weekdays. After grossing 5.12 crores on the opening day, it was faced abrupt fall in the business from the next day. The mixed audience response towards the film and the excellent performance of adjacent release Badrinath Ki Dulhania, have made it to gross average total at the end of the week.

Now it has entered in the second week and facing more competition due to new release Baahubali {Re-Release}. The news film are getting decent response and obviously affecting the business of weaker one among two existing films. On its second Friday, Naam Shabana has received below average response and raked the amount of 1.07 crore only. The film raked in around 1.88 crores today and now stands with the grand total of 30.13 crores.

It will cross the 30 crore mark tomorrow at the domestic market. Taapsee will be next seen in Judwaa 2 along with Varun Dhawan and Jacqueline Fernandez. The film features Varun in a double role and is directed by his father David Dhawan. It is produced by Sajid Nadiawala under his banner Nadiadwala Grandson and  is slated to release on 29 September 2017.
