4 Days Total Collection of Naam Shabana
Last Friday released thriller drama film Naam Shabana is directed by Shivam Nair and produced by Neeraj Pandey and Shital Bhatia under the Friday Filmworks banner is getting good response on box office. The film has taken decent start but showed impressive jump on Saturday and Sunday. Taapsee starrer Naam Shabana is getting very positive reviews from critics as well as entire film industry. Due to strong word of mouth, it has grossed good business in the weekend from 2100 screens in India.
Since the Taapsee Pannu starrer has grown over the weekend, there are indications of stable weekdays ahead. Since there is no competition whatsoever from a new release, it would all boil down to how much has the content been loved by the audience that would lead to word of mouth. The film is a spin off of Akshay Kumar’s Baby and tells us the back story of their agent Shabana Khan and her journey before Baby.
On its very first day, Naam Shabana had witnessed the decent occupancy of 30% across the country and minted the amount of 5.12 crores. On Saturday it showed impressive jump in its business and raked 6.37 crores as its second day collection. On the last day of weekend it added excellent amount of 7.27 crores and made the weekend total as 18.76 crores. On Monday, it faced a drop of more than 40% than Friday and minted the amount of 2.54 crores as its fourth day collection. With this, it’s 4 days domestic total would become 21.30 crores.
Naam Shabana has been made at a budget of Rs 15 crore with Rs 10 crore being spent for promotion. It is unclear if this means the total money spent was 15 crore minus 10 crore for promotion, (which would mean only 5 crore rupees were spent on production,) or if the source means that the production budget was 15 crore with an additional 10 crore rupees spent for promotion. Because of the ambiguity in phrasing, the budget is being presented as a range of 5–15.
