Eros Now’s very much hyped latest movie Munna Michael had registered decent opening on box office in the weekend across the country as well as international market. But in weekdays, it is getting lesser response than expectations and its business graph is falling abruptly. Although due to weak story, the movie has not received much positive reviews from critics but most of the youth audience reacted in favor of Munna Michael.
This was why, the movie was expected to perform atleast decently in weekdays. But in actual, it got failed and loosing its hold over audience within the first week, which is not a good sign. In the opening weekend, Munna Michael recorded more than 30% of occupancy through out and did the fair business of 21.67 crores on 3000 screens across India. This included 6.65 crores of Friday, 6.32 crores of Saturday and 8.70 crores of Sunday.
Now Sabbir Khan’s directorial is running in weekdays and facing heavy drops in its business. On Monday, it faced almost 52% of decline than Friday and minted the amount of 3.25 crores. With further drop, it added the amount of 2.65 crores on Tuesday. On the next day i.e. Wednesday, Munna Michael minted the amount of 2.15 crores with more drop and made its 6 days total as 29.72 crores on domestic box office.
The box office will witness two releases this week. Arjun Kapoor, Anil Kapoor, Ileana D’Cruz, Athiya Shetty’s Mubarakan which will be directed by Anees Bazmee who has previously directed some hilarious films like No Entry, Singh Is Kinng and Ready.
