Sabbir Khan’s directorial this week’s offering, the much appreciated action dance drama film ‘Munna Michael’ has taken a decent start at box office on Friday. The film has released with good initial buzz and received mixed reviews from critics as well as cine goers. The first day mixed reactions have generated negative word of mouth about the film among audience and as result it has started its second day on a better note than the first one.
Bankrolled by Sabbir Khan, this Tiger Shroff, Niddhi Agerwal and Nawazuddin Siddiqui starrer Munna Michael is being disliked by everyone. The word for Munna Michael was out as it saw pretty average occupancy in the morning. Though there was a ray of hope that it will hold during evening shows. The film had the ingredients but it seems the chef has messed it up.
On its opening day with overall 25-30% of occupancy, Munna Michael had minted the amount of 6.65 crores on Indian screens. On Saturday, due to mixed reactions it faced slight drop and garnered the business of 6.15 crores. With this, total 2 days collection of the movie has become 12.80 crores domestically.
Word of mouth for the film is pretty average too. The film is targeted towards the massy and single screen crowd and going by the collections it seems they’re not happy. The other two releases’ target the multiplex audiences. The film has to go show growth over weekend and stay stable on weekdays to end up on a profitable side. Next week we see the release of Mubarakan, Indu Sarkar and they will create a road block for Munna Michael so it has to be stable in week 1.
