The latest comedy drama movie Mubarakan has released this Friday at box office on 2350 Indian and 475 screens overseas screens. The movie is getting mixed reviews from critics but overall positive response from audience. The movie is directed by Anees Bazmee. It also stars Arjun Kapoor, Anil Kapoor, Ileana DCruz, Amrita Singh, Athiya Shetty. The film’s story revolves around Karan and Charan Singh, who are identical twins.
The word for Mubarakan was out as it saw pretty average occupancy in the morning. Though there was a ray of hope that it will hold during evening shows. The film had the ingredients but it seems the chef has messed it up. Out of all the territories business in Maharashtra is notable, still not as it should be. The movie is facing stiff competition from Indu Sarkar at the box-office.
The film is a family entertainer [comedy] and hence, this is considered to be a normal trend. Considering that the film majorly revolves around a Punjabi family, it has struck a chord with the audience in the North and hence Delhi, UP and other Northern circuits have received a better opening comparatively. However, Indu Sarkar has to face an uphill task of registering good collections considering that it has opened to much a lesser rate of approximately 5%.
On its first day, the movie has recorded the overall occupancy of 30% in India and minted a decent amount of 5.25 crores. After a long time audience having a good budgeted comedy movie to watch, so it is expected that Mubarakan will take rise in its business from Saturday and will ended up its weekend with good total. It is produced by Sony Pictures Networks Productions and Ashwin Varde and Murad Khetani’s Cine1 Studios.
