One of the most popular superstars in Tamil Cinema Vijay starrer Mersal is all set to hit theaters this Thursday on October 18th worldwide. Alongside Vijay, it stars Samantha, Nithya Menon and Kajal Aggarwal in lead roles. Being year’s much awaited Tamil movie, this action drama has massive pre-release buzz among fans as well as audience.
Directed by Atlee is the story of Mersal unfurls in three different time periods, in which Vijay plays three different characters, a doctor, a magician and a village leader from Madurai. In this action thriller film, a magician and a doctor attempt to solve a healthcare threat that is looming large over the country and in the process expose the corruption in the Indian medical industry.
The movie has garnered huge buzz at all stages – first look poster, audio album, teaser, promos, release date. The craze for Mersal on social media is a testimony to Thalapthy’s fandom. The craze and buzz is for everyone to see but the interesting thing is- the movie is being declared a BIG Diwali release even in the trade circles.
Vijay fans have confirmed that Mersal will have a record number of fan shows in Kerala. The advance bookings for the action thriller have already started on BookMyShow and a majority of shows have either ‘filling fast’ or ‘almost full’ status. The 10 am show at Q Cinemas in Kochi was listed as houseful.
Vijay is one of the most popular superstar in Kollywood and has huge fan following globally. Mersal is his 61st movie, and the second collaboration with director Atlee after action thriller Theri. Last he was seen in action thriller Bairavaa this year, which had registered the opening business of 16.61 crores at Tamil Nadu and 2.16 crores at Kerala box office.
Mersal has much expectations and ofcourse high craze among audience. As per the advance booking stats, it is likely to receive more 75% of occupancy and break the opening record of Bairavaa in both the states. If the movie gets positive reactions from viewers, then it can score excellent in this Diwali festival weekend.
