Two new distinct releases of this Friday are Lucknow Central and Simran. Both the movies have strong topics at hand and if the audience loves them, they can grow over the weekend. But, before that, they will need to get good reviews and positive word of mouth. Both Lucknow Central and Simran are witnessing a slow start at box office.
Lucknow Central is a multi starrer film that features Farhan Akhtar, Diana Penty, Gippy Grewal, Ronit Roy, Deepak Dobriyal, Inaamulhaq and Rajesh Sharma. The film opened with an average review and ratings from the viewers. While Kangana is the soul of Simran. Both the film have got amazing reviews.
On the opening day, Ranjit Tiwari’s directorial opened on a dull note across the country. From the evening shows it witnessed slight jump in footfalls and raked the average business of 2.04crore which is lower than the expected figure. On Saturday, the movie is expected to show decent growth.
On the other hand, Kangana Ranaut’s Simran though received excellent reviews from the critics and a positive word of mouth, the film unfortunately couldn’t convert the same in great numbers. Simran performed well only in premium multiplexes of metros like Mumbai, Bangalore, Delhi NCR. However, the response at single screens and mass centres was very poor.
The film failed to grab attention especially in the Central India circuits. On the opening day, Simran got a slow start and witnessed slight rise in occupancy over the evening and night shows in multiplexes. With an overall 10-15% of occupancy, it minted the amount of 2.77 crore at domestic box office. Hansal Mehta’s directorial can take slight jump over the weekend.
Had the performance of the flick remained same in the single screens and rural centres, it could have made much better business! Nevertheless, the early reports of Saturday’s occupancy seems to be better. If the evening and night shows show any signs to pick up, Simran will have high chances to put up some good numbers at the Box Office in its opening weekend.
