Komban 3rd Third Day Collection – Friday Box Office Business Report

Komban 3rd Day Box Office Business

Karthi’s “Komban” and Udhayanidhi Stalin’s “Nanbenda” aka “Nannbenda” have good openings at the Tamil Nadu box office. While the former was released on 1 April, the latter has hit the screens on 2 April. “Komban” was released in 300 screens on Wednesday after facing a last-minute issue over the release. This forced the makers to advance the release date by a day. But it could only have its opening shows on the evening of Wednesday. Nonetheless, the shows ran into packed houses in most of the places in Chennai and some other regions. On Thursday, its second day, “Komban”, despite getting mixed reviews, the movie managed to perform well at many centres. The Tamil movie has mainly attracted B and C centre audiences and it has got a good word-of-mouth. It is an action movie, which has Lakshmi Menon and Rajkiran in the lead roles. Whereas Udhayanidhi Stalin’s “Nanbenda” has been released in 350 screens in Tamil Nadu. The early trade reports indicate that it has enjoyed a good occupancy at multiplexes and has managed to do well at some key centres. We should note that this film too has got mixed reviews. The movie has Nayantara and Santhanam in the key roles.

Komban Friday Box Office Collection

“Komban” and “Nanbenda” are facing a huge competition fromSagaptham and Hollywood movie Furious 7, which have been released in 300 and 200 screens respectively in Tamil Nadu. However, the Shanmuga Pandian’s film has not got encouraging talk but the Vin Diesel’s film has got fantastic reviews. Hence, it is expected to have some impact on the business of Tamil films. It maintained the audience expectations and finally made a good start by collecting around Rs.5 crores approx as its third day income. The figures are well enough and have fulfilled the critics & audience hopes up to a limit. One reason of the successful performance of Komban is that there were no good films as competitors from Tollywood or Kollywood screens right now. It is a mid budget film with cost of Rs 15 crores and a good star power and has released on high number of screens and expected to collect decent income in the coming days of the weekend. Directed by M. Muthaiah and produced by K. E. Gnanavel Raja, S. R. Prakashbabu and S. R. Prabhu under the banners of Studio Green, film is basically a fully fledged action – drama comedy.
