Ki & Ka 4th Day Box Office Performance
Ki And Ka starring Kareena Kapoor and Arjun Kapoor opened quite decently at the box office. The film managed to show a good upward trend over Saturday and Sunday, thus taking its opening weekend collection to 25.23 crores. The R Balki film has now become the third highest opening weekend grosser of the year, after Akshay Kumar’s Airlift (44.30 cr) and the recent release Kapoor And Sons (26.35 cr). Ki And Ka being a urban-centric drama, made majority of its business from the multiplexes. In spite of mixed reviews from the critics, Ki And Ka seems to be enjoying a decent word of mouth amongst the audiences.
Meanwhile, has emerged as the biggest opener for Balki. His last directorial, “Shamitabh,” had earned Rs. 3.5 crore, while “Paa,” which was released in 2009, earned Rs 2.15 crore over the opening weekend. “Ki and Ka” is also set to beat the lifetime box office collection of Balki’s first film “Cheeni Kum,” starring Amitabh Bachchan and Tabu. “Cheeni Kum” had minted approximately Rs. 17 crore during its box office run, and “Ki and Ka” is set to beat this record with its three-day box office collection.
Now Ki And Ka has entered in weekdays and being normal working days, started getting lesser occupancy than weekend. But still it has successfully managed to maintain a good pace and added the amount of 3.50 crores as its 4th day collection with more than 57% of drop. After 4 days, total collection of Ki And Ka is recorded as 28.77 crores at domestic box office. With this, the movie has crossed the mark of 50 crores at worldwide box office excluding all shares.
Directed by Balki, “Ki and Ka” was released in 1,600 screens in India. The film features Kareena as Kia, Arjun as Kabir Bansal, and Swaroop Sampat and Rajit Kapur as supporting characters. Amitabh has done a cameo in the film along with wife Jaya Bachchan.
