Rosshan Andrrews’s directorial epic-period drama Kayamkulam Kochunni has released with enormous buzz. As expected the movie has received overwhelmed response from audience and taken phenomenal start on box office. Nivin Pauly starrer this highly awaited flick has impressed everyone and received super positive reviews from critics as well as moviegoers.
While the supporting star cast includes Priya Anand, Babu Antony, and Sunny Wayne. Apart from this ensemble star cast, it was Superstar Mohanlal’s presence in an extended cameo which gave Kayamkulam Kochunni the much-needed publicity and pre-release hype.
On the opening day, Kayamkulam Kochunni took a thunderous start and recorded 100% occupancy at most of the centers worldwide. Across Kerala, the movie witnessed houseful shows everywhere and registered the massive opening business of 5.30 crores gross from approx. 350+ screens.
Nivin Pauly’s Kayamkulam Kochunni is the journey of a man who helped his people start a revolution against the oppressors in power. This struggle is not just important to understand what happened in the past, but could also be instrumental in changing mindset for a better future.
The music by Gopi Sundar, especially the background score whenever Mohanlal appears and the climax track elevates the scenes from being just a cliche. The climax sequence, reportedly shot by Nirav Shah portrays liberation breathtakingly and throughout it all, the martial art form Kalari underlines the role that power played. All of it, stunning – and yet subtle.
