Kaun Kitne Paani Mein First Look

The first look of Kunal Kapoor’s upcomping film ‘Kaun Kitne Paani Mein’ has been released on 21st July. Directed by ‘I Am Kalam’ fame director Nila Madhab Panda, the film also stars Gulshan Grover, Radhika Apte and Saurabh Shukla. Set in the backdrop of a traditional love story, the film is a comedy dram where water is the new currency. The film portrays the changes in hierarchy, caste and the power equation when water, the most important resource, vanishes and how the oppressed become the oppressors. Kaun Kitney Paani Mein has been produced by the international NGO – One Drop Foundation and aims at raising awareness about the issue of water and sanitation in India’s rural areas where 70 per cent of the population lives. The film is a satire on water set in the rain shadow areas of Orissa where water becomes currency in our daily life. A black comedy based between two villages fighting over a water reservoir since few decades, the story revolves around how the King (Saurabh Shukla) of the Higher village plots a way to get water from the lower village. He plans with his son (Kunal Kapoor) to impregnate the daughter (Radhika Apte) of the Sarpanch (Gulshan Grover) of the lower village so that they can get the water in return. Set against the backdrop of Odisha, “Kaun Kitney Paani Mein” travels between two villages fighting over a water reservoir since a couple of decades as it aims at making viewers aware of the impending water crisis and sanitation in rural areas where 70 percent of India’s population resides. The film also stars Saurabh Shukla and Gulshan Grover in important roles.
