First Weekend Collection of Kahaani 2
Vidya Balan-starrer Kahaani 2 collected Rs. 5.79 crore on its second day. The thriller drama has collected Rs. 10.04 crore in two days. The film saw a strong growth on its day two, registering 36.24% growth on Saturday (December 3). The third and last day of the weekend could give the film a respectable sum. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared, “#Kahaani2 saw 36.24% growth on Day 2… Sun should add to a respectable total… Fri 4.25 cr, Sat 5.79 cr. Total: ₹ 10.04 cr [1235 screens].”
Being associated with 2012’s very much appreciated Kahaani, the latest installment from the franchise had good pre-release buzz among audience and has opened up on a better note as compare to the original one. Although it has received mixed reviews from critics because of its predictable story & lack of thrill but everyone appreciating the performances of Vidya Balan and Arjun Rampal. Both the actors are well known for their sincere acting and has huge fan following across the country. Their fans are creating good buzz about it on social media, also most of the audience has reacted in favor of the movie.
But so far, Kahaani 2 doesn’t seem to do higher lifetime business than Kahaani (51.55 crores) on domestic box office despite higher opening business. The reasons behind this, of course the already existing Shahrukh-Alia starrer Dear Zindagi, demonetization and somewhere the movie itself. On the second day i.e. Saturday, being weekend the movie received more audience in theaters and estimated to rake the business of 5.79 crores to make its 2 days total collection as 10.04 crores on domestic box office. Kahaani 2 can add higher amount on Sunday but it has to remain steady in weekdays for a reputed opening week total.
Then on its third day, being Sunday the movie has experienced decent occupancy as well as business on Indian screens and added the amount of 6.93 crores. Till the end of its first weekend, total collection of Kahaani 2 is recorded as 16.97 crores at domestic box office. Considering the weekend report of the movie, it is expected to face low response from weekdays.
