Superstar Rajinikanth’s Kabali 8th Day Box Office Report
Kabali the Rajinikanth starrer super exciting movie that was being awaited from last year finally released last week on 22 July 2016 with all the high hopes and hypes. Being such a high cost and publicized movie, it was in huge buzz among the media for its star cast and popularity. This flick created lots of expectations among the fans and also received all positive reviews from the critics and viewers as well in its journey of 8 days. It made an unbreakable opening collection at the south Indian box office in domestic as well as the overseas market. Worldwide superstar fans have thoroughly enjoyed the movie in their own languages and if we talk about film’s performance in India then it has got good reviews from the audience.
Rajinikanth’s “Kabali” is performing well at the overseas box office even after 1 week. Tamil films of big stars have good markets in key foreign locations. With “Kabali” being a Rajinikanth film, it opened to roaring response worldwide. In the weekend, Kabali recorded phenomenal occupancy in theaters across India and did the business of 110 crores, which included 46.50 crores of Friday, 30.05 crores of Saturday and 33.45 crores of Sunday. In these business figures Tamil Nadu made the highest contribution of 47 crores, whereas Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala and north India contributed 20 crores, 16 crores, 7.85 crores and 19.15 crores respectively. In weekdays, Pa Ranjith’s directorial reported usual drop than weekend and minted the amount of 13.50 crores (2.75 crores of north) on Monday.
Then with more drop, it did the business of 11.50 crores (1.85 crore of north) on Tuesday and 7.50 crores (1.45 crore of north) on Wednesday. On the last day of week i.e. Thursday, Kabali recorded more drop than previous day and estimated to collect the amount of 5 crores* (1.20 crore* of north) on domestic box office with all three versions- Tamil, Telugu & Hindi. With this, its one week net total will become 147.50 crores*, including 26.40 crores* of north India. Te film fetched good collections in major markets like the US, UK, Malaysia and Australia.
On its 8th day of release, Kabali is still running very good at box office and is leading much of the recent and current films at the box office with 2nd Friday total income of around 4.25 Crores*. Whole crew has made a fantastic and unique attempt with new action and stunts introduced in the films. Kabali has crossed mark of many films and records of Ajith’s and Vijay’s film collections plus Kochadaiiyaan too in the first week. Kabli has entered into its second week and is showing decent performance so we expect it to raise much higher trade figures in the upcoming weekend.
