“Kabali” has turned out to be Kollywood’s biggest money-spinner in 2016. The movie, which was released on July 22, has not only made an earth-shattering collection in its home territory of Tamil Nadu but also at overseas centres. After earning a staggering Rs. 75.27 crore ($11.20 million) in its opening weekend, the Tamil movie went on to end its first week at Rs. 84.02 crore ($12.6 million). The major centres that contributed in its success are the U.S., Malaysia, U.K. and Australia.
