Jai Gangaajal Fifith Day Collection
“Jai Gangaajal” had a better opening than “Neerja” at the box office Friday, but Priyanka Chopra’s film failed to beat the opening weekend record of Sonam Kapoor’s film. The three-day box office collection of “Jai Gangaajal” is lesser than Priyanka’s last film female “Mary Kom,” but it is better than Rani Mukerji’s “Mardaani.” “Jai Gangaajal” earned approximately Rs 18 crore in its opening weekend, Koimoi.com reports. “Neerja” earned Rs 22.01 crore, “Mary Kom” minted Rs 30.6 crore and “Mardaani” raked in 14.46 crore.
The film had a decent run at the domestic box office, despite receiving mixed reviews. Prakash Jha’s directorial film is raking in most of the money from the north circuits, including UP, CI and Bihar. However, the overall opening weekend collection remained low, as other circuits did not perform to the expected level. Today being the first Tuesday for Jai Gangaajal, the film earned decent figures by the end of the day but could not make any significant amount due to working schedule of the people throughout the day.
Reports received from known and reliable sources reveal that the film Jai Gangaajal has earned nice collection over the weekend but it is going to be quite tough for the film to sustain the weekday time with any remarkable income. Overall the film has shown a normal performance rather than of any hit film. Today, Jai Gangaajal has done a business of around 3.95 Crores* which is lesser than yesterday. Jai Gangaajal is a very good movie if we look from the acting point of view, but judging it on the basis of entertainment then the film lacks somewhere due to non masala story and characters.
But on the whole the film is a fully fledged packet of good story, nice acting skills in the film. For these good reasons audience is showing interest in the film in weekdays too. Though slower and lesser but Jai Gangaajal is making business on box office and soon it will pick up pace again with the coming weekend. Directed by Prakash, the film features Priyanka as Superintendent of Police Abha Mathur, Prakash, who is making his acting debut, as inspector Bhola Nath Singh aka B.N. Singh and Manav Kaul as the main antagonist.
