Jagga Jasoos 7th Day Collection, Crosses 46 Cr Total in One Week Domestically

After the strong start, UTV Motion Pictures’ Jagga Jasoos was expected to maintain atleast good pace through out its opening week but just after the weekend, it was started loosing hold over audience across the country. Due to wide scale promotions, Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif starrer this Adventure Musical romantic drama was released with much excitement of fans and witnessed strong opening. But mixed reviews by most of the critics pulled it back in weekdays.

From 1800 screens across India, Jagga Jasoos recorded the occupancy of more than 30% over the opening weekend and registered the good business of 33.17 crores, with 9th highest opening of the year so far. The weekend total was included 8.57 crores of Friday, 11.53 crores of Saturday and 13.07 crores of Sunday. In weekdays, the movie has received lesser response than expectations.

On Monday, Anurag Basu’s directorial faced the drop of almost 53% than last Friday and raked the business of 4.05 crores. Then with further drop in its business, it added the amount of 3.48 crores on Tuesday and 3.05 crores on Wednesday. On the last day of week i.e. Thursday, Jagga Jasoos managed to collect the amount of 2.54 crores and made its opening week total collection as 46.29 crores on domestic box office. Now from second week, it will have new offering action dance drama film Munna Michael in opposite.

Written and directed by Anurag Basu, The movie also stars Saurabh Shukla in a key role. It is produced by Anurag Basu, Siddharth Roy Kapur, and Ranbir Kapoor. It revolves around the story of a teenage detective in search of his missing father. The film is, in fact, better than what Katrina Kaif’s last release Baar Baar Dekho had done in its entire lifetime [32 crores] and though the scale, budget, and expectations from both are poles apart, the fact still remains that there has been a start nonetheless.
