Jackson Durai (Tamil) 2nd Day Collection: 2 Days Total Box Office Report

Jackson Durai 2 Days Total Box Office Collection

Father and son duo Sathyaraj and Sibiraj’s “Jackson Durai” has got a fantastic start at the Tamil Nadu box office. The Kollywood flick has done good collection despite getting mixed reviews on the opening day. “Jackson Durai” was released in around 300 screens in Tamil Nadu. The makers have promoted the movie well and there was a good pre-release buzz around the flick. This translated into a good opening, say trade experts. In fact, it is said to be the biggest-ever opening for Sibiraj.

The morning shows witnessed decent occupancy in theatres but the collections picked up in the later shows. The early estimation coming from the industry says that the Tamil flick has easily earned above Rs. 1.5 crore in Tamil Nadu. However, the makers are yet to reveal the official number. It has to be noted that the movie is not eligible for 30 percent entertainment tax exemption given by the Tamil Nadu government as it has got ‘U/A’ certificate by the regional censor board. The state government provides 30 percent exemption only to the films, which get ‘U’ certificate.

Meanwhile, the makers are hoping that “Jackon Durai” will do well during the weekends. It is very crucial for its success at the box office. On the other hand, other release “Appa,” directed by Samuthirakani, too has opened to mixed reviews. On Saturday being weekend and due to positive word of mouth, the movie has recorded higher response than Friday. At the end of the day, total 2 days collection of Jackson Durai 2 has become 2.15 crores* on domestic box office.

“Jackson Durai” is a horror-comedy movie, written and directed by Dharani Dharan. The movie, which has Bindu Madhavi in the female lead, revolves around a haunted bungalow. A cop (Sibiraj) comes to the village to unravel a mystery and lands in a situation where he has to stay in the haunted place for seven days in order to marry a girl named Viji. What happens next is the interesting part of the story.
