Idhu Namma Aalu Second Day Collection
Silambarasan aka Simbu’s “Idhu Namma Aalu” is off to a good start at the box office. The Tamil movie, which was released on Friday, May 27, has done good business in Tamil Nadu on its first day. Journalist Haricharan Pudipeddi tweeted, “#INA has registered the best ever opening for a #Simbu film in TN. Very good opening weekend numbers assured.” The movie has been released in above 350 screens in Tamil Nadu and it has registered fantastic occupancies on its first day in Chennai.
“Idhu Namma Aalu” had shown signs of doing good business after the movie got good response for its advance booking. Realising the positive buzz around the movie, many theatres started advance booking and not surprisingly the tickets were sold like hot cakes. While the official box office numbers for the first day are yet to be revealed, the industry experts predict the film to have collected between Rs. 4 to Rs. 5 crore on the opening day.
On the second movie started with almost similar response as previous day but witnessed little drop & done the business of 3.25 crores* from Tamil Nadu screens. Sunday is expected to be resulted in higher business to achieve good total in weekend. In Chennai alone, it had above 75 shows from which it is expected to have grossed somewhere between Rs. 35 and 40 lakh. On the other hand, “Idhu Namma Aalu” has opened big overseas. It is released in many countries, including in Malaysia (75 screens), UAE (31 screens), Sri Lanka (22 screens) and USA (around 50 screens).
“Idhu Namma Aalu” features ex-couple Simbu and Nayanthara in the lead roles. Andrea Jeremiah will be seen in the second female lead in the flick, which is written and directed by Pandiraj. Meanwhile, the movie has opened to fairly positive reviews from the audience and critics. The cine-goers are happy with the decent content and the comedy elements have garnered thumbs up from all section of audience. This good response is expected to boost the collection of the movie at the box office. The industry expects “Idhu Namma Aalu” to reach Rs. 10-crore mark in its first weekend at the Tamil Nadu box office.
